Body iQ Challenge Day 2- ENERGY BALANCING

Welcome to day #2 of the Body iQ Challenge!

Today we’re going to work on balancing our energy (who doesn’t need that?!). Your body is always sending you signals and messages. These signals can come in the form of a variety of emotions, body aches, and subtle pains.

Many of these signals are signs that your body is out-of-whack and not able to cope with the straining demands of your physical and emotional environment. Today I want to highlight a technique that I’ve found to be the best at dealing with these stressors. It’s called  “balancing the cortices”, which is plural for the cortex layer of the brain. We’re going to do it today (and hopefully the rest of the week, cuz it only takes a little over a minute to do).

We need to have the brain feel OK about whatever it's encountering. The brain is like the CEO of the body. It has to manage everything that's going on.

We have a right and left hemisphere of that cortex layer - the left side functions as the intellect, reasoning, details and logic, and the right side as the intuitive, emotional or the bigger picture.

These two sides must be working in harmony with each other. In order for the brain to work efficiently, you can't only be looking at the details or only looking at the big picture.

The cortices technique makes sure that we have harmony between the left and right sides of the brain in the proper communication and balance, so they can have the details and the big picture talking back-and-forth to each other all the time. When we balance this with the brain, we’re creating a harmony between the two sides of the brain and also between each cell of the body because each cell has a right and left brain function. This way, we’re balancing the whole mind and the whole body.

p.s. Keep watching to the end to practice the movements from yesterday with me after you do the brain balancing!
